Affordable Cases spearheaded this unique case design several years ago for many of the top name touring acts. Besides looking great on stage, it's a perfect way to organize and prewire your effects, tuners, etc. in conjunction with your amp head.
Roll in the case, remove the front & rear lids (they're filled with solid foam - close to 3" thick), plug in the main power, and you're ready . (Oh yeah . . . plug in your guitar and turn the power on). As on all Affordable Cases, the removeable lids are REVERSEABLE, so you don't have to look for any "dots" or special markings to show there's only one way to put the lid on. The lids fit on either way - no hassle! Also, the thick exterior caster board is extended under BOTH the front lid AND the rear lid to help as a resting spot for each lid while it's being latched on.
With both lids removed, you have complete air circulation from the front to the rear. The amp head section is custom-fit with 1" foam on all 4 sides, with the solid foam in each lid touching the front & back of the amp. If your amp has a vent on the top, this is typically a secondary vent, and the foam above the amp is cut away to allow air circulation through this top vent. You don't even have to remove the amp feet; the bottom foam is cut away so you can simply slide the amp in and wire everything together.
Each Affordable Case is designed as a specific fit for each model of amp listed, so it's a good tight fit. The first time you put your amp in, the easiest way is to lay the case on its back, take off the front lid, and slide the amp DOWN INTO the case. (It's more difficult to try to push the amp forward into the case when the case is standing up).
The top rack section is a completely separate compartment from the head section. It contains a separate 4-sided rack structure trimmed with aluminum extrusion, and is suspended on ALL sides with foam - the 4 sides around the center section plus the solid foam in the front & rear lids. The important principle is that your rack equipment AND your amp head are FLOATING in foam. They're isolated from the outside and from each other, so that any shock to the outside of the case is absorbed first by the foam, keeping the shock from transferring to your rack gear or amp head.
The center section of the case is made the same depth as your amp head. If you're putting deeper equipment in the rack area, you may need a deeper center section. Click here for a full explanation.
Each case is designed to specifically fit the model of amp head.
